Mosaics ~
A Introductory Four Week Fun Class
This beginner class serves as an introduction to two of the basic skills necessary for stained glass crafting: cutting glass and fitting it to a pattern. In this  five week series of classes, students will create a glass mosaic table top from start to finish, from selection of the pattern and glass, creation of a cartoon, cutting the glass, using the glass grinder to properly fit the glass to the pattern, preparation of the substrate (table top), adhering the glass to the substrate (table top), grouting the project, and sealing the finished product. The cost for this series of classes is $100 per person plus a $50 tool deposit (refundable at the last class), which includes the table top and basic consumable supplies (pattern paper, mosaic glue/ cement, grout, & sealers + student handbook); the cost does not include the price of glass selected by the student for the mosaic. Each student will be assigned a tool kit for use during the series of classes, and all studio tools and equipment are available to the students during the course of the class series.
